Shoot Reflections (Saturday 8th Nov)

This was our first shoot - our call time was 8:00 and our wrap time was 13:30.

During this shoot, we shot only performance shots - the band performing to camera, the band performing in balloons, glide-cam band performing in balloons and myself lip-syncing with balloons.

Mahalia used the monitor while we were performing to see what we looked like on-screen

I feel that this shoot went relatively well being our first shoot. There were two main issues with the shoot, however:

1. We took about an hour and a half to actually start shooting once we had got costume, hair and make-up sorted and the lights were focused in the right places with the coloured backdrop not being washed out. Having said that, we managed to do all the shots we intended to do as well as an MCU of me lip-syncing with balloons. If we had gotten going earlier, we may have got even more done.

2. It took a while for me, Gavin and Alice to get into character. At the start of the shoot, we looked very static and uncomfortable in front of the camera. Mahalia's ridiculous dancing behind the camera got us out of our shells eventually and we started to perform more naturally as if we were actually a band.
